Pau Piera Líndez is a postdoctoral researcher with expertise in developing deep learning methods for metagenomics. During his PhD in the Simon Rasmussen Lab, he focused on improving metagenomic binning and reconstruction of microbial genomes from environmental samples, including PlasMAAG, a metagenomic binner capable of simultaneously reconstructing plasmids and organisms. He is currently a postdoc in the Section of Microbiology at the University of Copenhagen with Søren Sørensen, where he applies these methods to samples from diverse environments. His research centers on understanding the interconnected roles of plasmids, among other mobile genetic elements, and microorganisms within environmental microbial communities.
