I am a microbiologist working at the intersection of molecular microbiology, evolutionary biology, and synthetic biology. My research focuses on how bacteria interact with their genetic parasites—such as bacteriophages and plasmids—and how these interactions can be harnessed to develop new strategies against antibiotic-resistant infections. A key strand of my work explores plasmid‑based approaches to remove antibiotic resistance in realistic, clinically relevant environments.
